From Becoming to Being.
ANNA OKARIA presents in Italy.
On 21 June 2026, ANNA OKARIA presented From Becoming to Being in the historic heart of Anagni, Italy, as part of Donne in Fiore – Women in Bloom — an international celebration bringing together fashion, art, culture and female creativity.
Set against the monumental architecture of Piazza Papa Innocenzo III, the runway became a dialogue between heritage and contemporary expression — a natural setting for a collection rooted in transformation, identity and the courage to become fully oneself.
FROM BECOMING TO BEING
The collection unfolded through four chapters: Origin, Becoming, Ascension and Being.
Each chapter represented a stage of transformation.
Origin looked towards memory and identity, expressed through lace, monochrome contrasts and silhouettes carrying a sense of timeless femininity.
Becoming introduced movement and transition — the space between who we have been and who we choose to become.
Ascension brought lightness and liberation through luminous textures, transparency and sculptural forms.
Finally, Being represented arrival: confidence without performance, femininity without explanation, and the freedom of inhabiting one's own identity.
Throughout the collection, lace, organza and fluid fabrics met architectural silhouettes and statement headpieces, creating a visual language where European heritage encounters the creative energy and beauty of Africa.
A COLLECTION WITHOUT GEOGRAPHICAL BORDERS
Presented in Italy by a brand created in Johannesburg by Polish-born designer Anna Okurowska, the show reflected the multicultural identity at the heart of ANNA OKARIA.
European heritage, years of living across different cultures and the creative influence of Africa come together in a design language that does not belong entirely to one place.
It belongs to a journey.
The Anagni presentation marked another chapter in that journey — bringing ANNA OKARIA back to Europe while carrying with it the perspective shaped in Johannesburg.
